TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial government announced that the occupation rate of hospital beds for Covid-19 patients in the capital city as of Sunday, February 14, was 70 percent. This includes those actively treated in 101 referral hospitals.

Latest development saw the city administration announcing on Wednesday, February 17, that the current occupancy rate of isolation hospital beds is now 68 percent from a total of 8,303 facilities, which means 5,670 of them are being used.

Meanwhile, the intensive care unit (ICU) beds are 71 percent occupied with 817 patients treated at 1,148 ICU beds.

As a comparison, on December 21, 2020 the Covid-19 mitigation task force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito recorded at the time that general hospital beds and ICU occupancy rate reached 80 percent in Jakarta, which was deemed normal.

However, the total number of Covid-19 isolation beds available in December was below today’s number of available beds as per December 20, 2020, there were 6,663 isolation beds with 5,691 being occupied by patients.
