TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi on Tuesday said Indonesia and Jordan will strengthen their economic partnership. One of the plans is to establish a joint venture in the field of fertilizers.
She also mentioned the partnership between the two countries in this field had been going on for years and that phosphate is one of the prioritized partnerships between Indonesia and Jordan.
Marsudi said “one of the success stories include the joint venture between Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) and PT Petrokimia Gresik,” during the press conference that was attended by the Jordan Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Safadi in Amman.
In her visit to the country, Retno Marsudi was accompanied by the director of a SOEs holding firm active in the field of fertilizers.
She plans to meet with the Jordan Minister of Economics to further discuss the joint venture. “Indonesia has proposed to establish a preferential trade agreement with Jordan and is expecting a positive response,” she said.
