TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria confirmed that 70,000 health workers in the capital had received the Covid-19 vaccine. The first phase of the government's vaccination program aimed to reach 131,000 healthcare professionals.

“We have received some 240,000 doses of vaccine,” Riza told reporters at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Building in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 2, 2021.

The chairman of Gerindra’s Jakarta branch executive board said the government would keep increasing the number of vaccine recipients. According to Riza, the city administration must improve the data collection to reach the vaccination target.

Jakarta reportedly has 1,498 vaccinators and is capable of injecting the vaccine to 19,000 people per day.

Riza said the city administration was determined to improve the data in order to optimize the vaccination program.

“So what must be fixed is the implementation of the vaccination program in Jakarta, including the data collection. We need to integrate the data collection because it is carried out by the Health Ministry and other ranks,” said the deputy governor.
