TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Covid-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee Executive Secretary, Raden Pardede, said the government is determined to resume the pre-employment card program in 2021, with the same budget as the previous one.

"At least in the first semester, we will run the program again with a budget of Rp10 trillion," said Raden on Thursday, Jan. 14.

The program scheme would not be different from the previous one, he said. The government would provide training and cash assistance.

According to Raden, the program continuation is necessary since the Covid-19 pandemic has not been fully handled so that the cash aid would still be provided.

Once the pandemic is contained, the cash assistance would no longer be needed and the program participants would only get training.

In 2020, the government recorded 5.59 million participants or beneficiaries of the pre-employment card program. The total budget allocated was Rp20 trillion. The program ended in batch 11 with a total of 43 million applicants.
