TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo asked governors to support the food estate program in their regions, particularly regarding the acceleration of the development licensing
“I ask governors whose territory is set for a food estate development to fully support the acceleration of licensing,” said the state head in a limited meeting on Covid-19 pandemic mitigation and vaccination program on Wednesday, Jan. 6.
He reiterated that the establishment of a food estate program was linked to food security, expecting that several regencies or provinces have their own food barns.
“We hope that we can finish it by 2021,” the President added.
During the meeting, he also highlighted strategies for pandemic handling. According to Widodo, the government would use the same strategies as applied last year, such as health, social protection, and economic recovery.
Jokowi stated that the key to economic recovery is the hard work to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
