Inaugural Vaccine Recipients to Receive SMS Notification Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Health Ministry on Thursday announced that it will be sending a short message service (SMS) notifying the first recipients of Indonesia’s Covid-19 vaccine, which is mentioned in the Health Minister's Decree No.HK.01.07/Menkes/12757/2020.

Citing the copy of the decree Tempo obtained today, the vaccination procedure will be notified in an SMS text message blast on December 31.

Moreover, the decree mentions the names that are taken from the Covid-19 vaccination data information and will subject the people categorized under the country’s priority group.

Previously reported, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin explained that the vaccination will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will be held in January-April of 2021 subjecting 1.3 million healthcare workers in 34 provinces and 17.4 million public health service personnel.

The second phase of vaccination is scheduled to be held from April 2021 to March 2022 on 63.9 million Indonesians that are prone to Covid-19 exposure while the rest of the 77.4 million will be given accordingly based on the government’s 'cluster approach.'
