TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of Crime Investigation Unit of Central Jakarta Police Burhanuddin, said on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, that one Covid-19 patient treated in the Wisma Atlet emergency hospital has been named as a suspect for enticing one of the hospital's healthcare workers into committing sexual action and confessing about it in social media.

"Based on the initial investigation, the patient fulfilled all the elements of a suspect because he spread the action," said Burhanuddin.

However, the police are unable to further question the suspect as he is currently being treated for Covid-19. Police announced that the suspect's motive for spreading the image of the illicit action to a WhatsApp group chat was simply to brag about it to friends that share the same sexual preference.

As previously reported, Indonesia's National Covid-19 Task Force Head Doni Monardo condemned the sexual crime involving a nurse and his patient at the Wisma Atlet Hospital.

"I deplored such unlawful act. It really does not reflect the value of Indonesian culture," Doni told journalists on the sidelines of a Covid-19 Task Force meeting at the Siliwangi regional military command early this week.
