TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto in Thursday’s hearing with the House of Representatives (DPR) announced that the government has Rp17 trillion prepared from the state budget for the country’s COVID-19 vaccination program scheduled to be acted out in 2021.

“The government has prepared Rp17 trillion for the COVID-19 vaccination slated for 2021,” said Terawan in the House hearing on December 10.

Aspects within the nationwide vaccination funded by the government include providing cold chain facilities, vaccine distribution along with other logistical needs, the fee for the services of the vaccination, waste management, and the operations of its information system.

The nationwide vaccination is set to be enacted in gradual stages. The first vaccination will be 3 million doses in priority zones (1.2 million vaccines) and non-prioritized zones (1.8 million doses).

The early stages of the vaccination will be held for healthcare workers in Java Island and Bali, as the two are the most populated areas in the country. The COVID-19 vaccinations will be continued to be done across other regions.
