10 Jobs Most Affected by Pandemic-related Crisis according to BPS

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded that there had been 2.56 million people that are unemployed due to the economic effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Out of this total number of unemployment, the Manpower Ministry on Wednesday listed 10 types of jobs that were strongly affected by the economic crisis as follows:

  1. Agents and sales intermediaries (10.1 percent)
  2. Car, van, and motorcycle drivers (7.3 percent)
  3. Mining and construction workers (6.7 percent)
  4. General office staff (6.7 percent)
  5. Chemical and Physics Technicians (5.6 percent)
  6. Cleaning services, housekeepers, hotels and offices (5.1 percent)
  7. Various sales workers (4.5 percent)
  8. Building and housekeeping supervisors (4.5 percent)
  9. Blue-collar workers (3.9 percent)
  10. Processing industry workers (3.9 percent)

BPS also recorded 29.12 million productive-age population were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with 24 million of them still working but has undergone various work reductions.
