IDI Asks People to Be Frontliners in Tackling COVID-19

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) Executive Board Chairman dr. Daeng Mohammad Faqih asserted that the public must remain at the frontline in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“To implement the health protocol, all elements of society must also be at the frontline, not only the government, task force, or health workers,” said Daeng during a virtual discussion on Monday, November 9, 2020.
Meanwhile, health workers, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, midwives, and others are at the forefront of health services, or specifically, they play a role in the testing, tracing, and treatment of the new coronavirus disease.
Daeng said that so far many people only see doctors, nurses, or midwives as the front liners in serving patients.
In fact, many medical workers are also fighting in the COVID-19 pandemic yet are rarely seen, namely radiologists, laboratory examiners, nutritionists for patients who are being treated, cleaning officers in isolation rooms, and people in charge of medical waste.
