TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, on Tuesday said that the central government has the authorization to impose self-isolation for FPI leader Rizieq Shihab - who just returned from self-exile in Saudi Arabia - as it is required in the COVID-19 health protocol.
“In terms of Habib Rizieq, let [the self-isolation requirement] be authorized by the central government, in this case is the Foreign Affairs Ministry,” said the Jakarta Deputy Governor to journalists at the City Hall on November 10.
Riza handed the responsibility back to the central government as the national COVID-19 task force (satgas) has coordinated with the Saudi Arabian officials and Rizieq’s family members regarding his homecoming today.
He says the required swab tests and other health checks as a person arrives in Indonesia from overseas are overseen by the institution that has coordinated with Rizieq Shihabhimself, leading him to believe that this issue has been covered by the central government.
