TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on Sunday forecasts that the cyclone over the Indian Ocean’s western part of Sumatra will affect the weather over the island’s ten provinces for the next three days.

The provinces consists of Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, and Lampung.

“Light to heavy thunderstorm is forecasted to continue over North Sumatra for the next three days,” said BMKG forecaster in Medan, Utami Al Khairiyah on November 8.

The Indian Ocean cyclone has caused atmospheric changes and rain clouds build up from the Karimata Strait close to the southern part of Sumatra up to west Bengkulu. The BMKG has officially announced an early warning for affected areas.
