Transjakarta to Revamp Bus Stops after Blaze

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) President Director Sardjono Jhony Tjitrokusumo planned to revamp bus stops that were damaged and burned by rioters during the anti-omnibus law protest on Thursday, October 8, 2020.
“By redesigning the bus stops, its appearance and functions will surely be much better than before,” said Jhony in a written statement on Sunday, November 1, 2020.
The company, he added, was still studying the plan to completely demolish the bus stops or rebuild it with a new modern design.
In the initial stage, at least four bus stops will be redesigned, namely Sarinah, HI Roundabout, Tosari, and Dukuh Atas 1. “The four will have different concepts from other Transjakarta bus stops as it will be a two-storey bus stop.”
The ground floor will be for transportation activities where passengers get on and off the bus, as well as wait for a bus. The top floor, meanwhile, will have a restaurant, cafe, or gallery.
“With this concept, it is hoped that customers can have a pleasant and different experience when using Transjakarta services,” said Jhony. The revamp project was targeted to complete in the third quarter of 2021.
