TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Humans are social creatures, which drives us to continue interacting and socializing with other human beings, however, this has been an obstacle amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Psychologist Saskhya Aulia Prima gave several examples that we can practice to maintain our relationship with friends and families that are separated due to restrictions that have been imposed since the beginning of the pandemic.

Saskhya firstly suggested people conduct online activities that can be done together remotely such as "Exploring apps, courses, exercises, or DIY activities that can be done together." For those interested in speaking up their minds, there are many podcast apps you can use to accommodate you and your friend's ideas, discussions, or simply gossip as long as it keeps you and your friend's spirits up.

Secondly, Saskhya Prima suggests sending random surprise gifts to a friend's house. Many have practiced this as a random routine, which may have only been a common thing during major celebrations or holidays. What's important is not the quantity or value of your gift but as long as it keeps you and your circle happy then go on with it!

Third, the psychologist suggests an emotional check-in. Ask your friends how they feel currently, especially being stuck in one's home for a lengthy period.

The fourth and last thing you can do is to hang out with friends virtually, especially amidst the growing number of apps that can conduct group video calls, there may be no limit to this as you and your friends decide how exciting your meets would be.
