TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Agency has temporarily shut down 96 offices during the first 14 days of the Large-scale Social Restrictions or PSBB Volume 2, which started on September 14, 2020.

The agency's head, Andri Yansah, said 55 companies were force-closed after employees found to have contracted COVID-19, while the rest 41 workplaces were shut for violating the PSBB rules, such as exceeding the 25 percent maximum capacity policy.

“The closure will last for three days,” said Andri in a written statement on Monday, September 28.

During the first period of PSBB, the agency conducted a sudden inspection of 581 companies, and the program would further be carried out during the expanded social restrictions, which would be valid until October 11, 2020.

Andri said the government had not imposed sanctions on the workplaces thus far. Progressive sanctions, he added, would be given if the office repeated the violation. “The fine for neglecting the health protocols is set at Rp50 million.”

Three offices that were shut down due to COVID-19 cases are in Central Jakarta, 12 in West Jakarta, 11 in North Jakarta, 10 in East Jakarta, and 19 in South Jakarta.

Meanwhile, 19 workplaces violating the PSBB Volume 2 are in Central Jakarta, 10 in South Jakarta, 6 in East Jakarta, 4 in West Jakarta, and 2 in North Jakarta.
