TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The COVID-19 mitigation task force has officially opened tower 4 in COVID-19 emergency hospital Wisma Atlet in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The building is set to accommodate asymptomatic patients (OTG).

A written statement released on Monday, September 21, reveals the tower has 1,546 beds and is located next to tower 5, which has been used as an independent isolation venue. Both towers can serve 3,116 patients.

The opening of tower 4 was carried out since bed occupancy in other towers was nearly full. Recently, the number of patients put in the Wisma Atlet complex has increased. This is in line with the spike in the positive cases, which reached over 4,000 new infections on Saturday, September 19.

The task force reported that 95,35 percent or 1,497 beds of the total capacity at 1,570 had been occupied. As of today at 10 a.m., only 73 beds were available in tower 5.

Meanwhile, there are 306 and 523 vacant beds in tower 6 and 7, respectively. Thus, the bed occupancy rate of both towers reached 81.83 percent of the total 2,878 beds.
