TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Planning Director of Persahabatan Hospital in Jakarta, Yudhaputra Tristanto, reported that 126 hospital employees were confirmed positive for Covid-19. Of which, 75 people are still being treated, 49 have recovered, and two people died.

“Two patients who died have comorbidities, such as heart disease, diabetes, and others,” said Yudhaputra in an online press conference on Tuesday, Sept.1.

The hospital’s Director of HR, Education, and Research, Rochman Arif, said those employees were not treated at the hospital as they were presenting mild symptoms.

Persahabatan Hospital, he added, only accepted patients with moderate to severe symptoms. “They are being treated at Wisma Atlet Covid-19 Emergency Hospital, some of them are practicing self-isolation at homes,” Rochman said.

According to Rochman, not all of the 126 employees were infected in the hospital’s isolation rooms or pharmaceutical installations. The tracing results showed that most of them transmitted with Covid-19 from outside the hospital.

“They get it from their family members [who are positive for the disease], during their trip from home to the hospital building or vice versa,” Rochman said.
