TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Army Chief of Staff Gen. Andika Perkasa said the results of clinical trials of the COVID-19 cure developed by the Airlangga University (Unair) in cooperation with the Indonesian Army and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) had been submitted to the Drug and Food Monitoring Agency (BPOM).

“On (August) 19, we visited BPOM to submit clinical trial results, including the Capa (corrective and preventive action),” said Andika in Bandung, Friday, August 21.

He said the COVID-19 cure clinical trials had comply with BPOM's correction. “Corrective and preventive actions are as requested by the BPOM during the inspection last month,” he added.

According to him, the meeting concluded several agreements. “From what I understand, BPOM and we agree to do the best. It surely needs time to review the results of the clinical trials and also the corrective and preventive action, which are corrected by the BPOM.”

Andika said his side was waiting for the review results. “If deficiencies are found, they must be improved. That is what I comprehend during the visit,” he said.
