YLKI Reveals Reason Behind Covid-19 Herbal Medicine Claims

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Consumers Foundation (YLKI) chairman Tulus Abadi, on Monday, August 10, 2020, revealed that one of the aspects causing many Covid-19 herbal medicine claims is the lack of good pandemic political management by the Indonesian government.
Tulus argued that the government had been too focused on economic issues rather than health issues, which he says have also driven the growth of Covid-19 cases while the economic aspect has not seen significant improvement.
"Covid-19 is spreading even wider while the economic growth has also taken a nosedive," the YLKI chairman said in a virtual seminar on Monday, August 10, 2020. "We are also on the verge of a recession," Tulus added.
Tulus argued that the government has made a blunder by focusing on the economic aspect of the global Covid-19 crisis instead of suppressing the spread of the pandemic. Tulus asserted that many government officials have shown bad examples of underestimating the depth of the crisis.
Tulus added that the aforementioned factors had contributed to the emergence of people claiming to have discovered herbal medicines that can cure Covid-19.
