Eid Al-Adha, 2,040 New Covid-19 Cases Recorded

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Data from the Covid-19 Mitigation Task Force ("Covid-19 Task Force") recorded 2,040 additional cases of Covid-19 infection on Friday, July 31, 2020.

Following the addition, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the Eid Al-Adha day is recorded at 108,376 cases from the previous 106,336 cases. As for the number of cured patients, the number increases by 1,615 patients to a total of 65,907 patients from the previous 64,292 patients. Meanwhile, the number of fatalities increases by 73 to a total of 5,131 fatalities from the previous 5,058. In addition, the number of people under supervision for suspected infection is recorded at 60,739 people.

Previously, Chief of the Covid-19 Task Force Doni Monardo, said that until today, the government still has no information on when the peak of the Covid-19 infection will occur in Indonesia. He added that the development of Covid-19 in Indonesia is somewhat fluctuating.

On several regions, the number of Covid-19 cases experienced an increase while other regions recorded a decrease.

"Therefore, we all need to realize that Covid-19 is a real threat, a very dangerous virus. It's like the grim reaper," Doni said.
