TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto reportedly had yet another working visit to Turkey. He departed there to discuss the follow-up planned cooperation between Indonesia and the Turkish government.
“To follow up the talks of partnership in the defense industry between Turkey and Indonesia,” said the Defense Ministry spokesman Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak when contacted on Thursday, July 23.
At the end of last year, the Gerindra Party Chief Patron flew to Turkey and met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Chairman of the Defense Industries Presidency, Ismail Demir.
Dahnil said that the current session was a continuation of the previous discussion. Yet, the minister would also have other important meetings.
However, Dahnil stopped short of providing details. “There are several important agendas in Turkey. Bilateral talks in Turkey for recent days,” he shortly explained.
On his personal Twitter, the Chairman of the Defense Industries Presidency Ismail Demir said that the meeting with Prabowo was about cooperation plans in several sectors.
“We exchange views on partnership and export plans in several sectors, especially in UAVs (unarmed aerial vehicles) as well as sea and land vehicles," Ismail said.
