Jakarta Index Closes High over Good News on Covid-19 Vaccine

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed with a gain on Tuesday, July 14. At the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the index climbed over good news on the progress of the Covid-19 vaccine.
JCI closed up by 14.68 bps of 0.29 percent to 5079.12. The LQ45 also gained by 0.44 percent to close at 795.33.
"Today's positive sentiment was dominated by the progress of vaccine research by Pfizer and BioNTech, with two of their vaccine candidates have been labeled 'fast track; by the FDA and are ready for mass production by the end of the year," Indo Premier Sekuritas Mino analyst said in Jakarta, Tuesday, as reported by Antara.
Today's trade saw massive selling by foreign investors, ending with a net sell of Rp160 billion.
The Indonesia Stock Exchange today saw 9.14 billion shares worth Rp7.25 trillion being traded 683,631 times. The bourse recorded 179 stocks gaining, 225 declined, and 172 unchanged.
