TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the COVID-19 task force expert team, Wiku Adisasmito, on Tuesday announced the status changes across affected regions from July 5 to July 12.

He noted in the virtual press conference that there are 31 areas (regencies or cities) that are considered red zones, 177 areas within the orange zone, 204 areas in the yellow zone, and 102 COVID-19 green zones.

The green zones are divided into two categories: 48 areas that have not seen new confirmed cases and 54 areas that have yet been affected by COVID-19. Meanwhile, red zone areas during this period recorded a 6.03 percent drop while orange zones dropped by 34.4 percent.

“The yellow zones saw an increase from 175 areas on July 5 to 204 areas within the week of July 12. Green zones had also reduced from 104 to 102 areas,” Wiku explained.

He asserts that the zoning classification remains to be dynamic that heavily depends on people’s level of discipline and the local government’s strictness upon imposing health restrictions.

As of July 13, confirmed COVID-19 cases in Indonesia reached a total of 76,981 cases with 3,656 deaths, and 36,689 recoveries.
