TEMPO.CO, Mataram - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provincial government announced that tourism areas of Gili Indah, Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, Gili Air in North Lombok Regency are ready to welcome tourists on June 20, 2020.

The province’s prime tourist destinations will be reopened while complying with the Covid-19 health protocols. Visitors will be obliged to present Covid-free documents, except NTB residents.

“We have no doubt anymore. We have to be ready from now on,” said NTB Tourism Agency Head, Lalu Moh Faozal, in an event of the distribution of 15,000 social aid packages from the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry to the industry players on Wednesday, June 17.

The regional tourism players joined in Gili Hotel Association (GHA) claimed they had made the preparation since June 11. The GHA head Lalu Kusnawan asserted that the reopening of Fili Indah will abide by the predetermined protocols. “We are ready. But we must stay vigilant,” Kusnawan told Tempo.

Following the reopening of Gili Indah, Faozal mentioned that the government will allow hiking activities in Mount Rinjani starting June 30, 2020. “Three hiking trails will be reopened, namely Sembalun in East Lombok, Aik Berik in Central Lombok, and Senaru in North Lombok,” he outlined.
