TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Speaker Bambang Soesatyo on Tuesday said that Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto has formed a team to thoroughly study the draft bill on the Direction of the Pancasila Ideology down to each sentence.

Pak Prabowo said that he had already formed a team to study it,” said Bambang Soesatyo in Tuesday’s written statement.

The MPR Speaker together with seven MPR leaders had met Prabowo Subianto at his offices to discuss the draft bill. Bambang personally said that he supports the draft bill as long as it is produced to maintain the Pancasila and other crucial state ideologies.

“So far it’s meant to maintain the Pancasila ideology and strengthen the existence and authority of the Pancasila development board,” said Bambang Soesatyo who is often called by his nickname Bamsoet.

According to Bamsoet, the MPR and Prabowo Subianto have one thing in common and that both agree that the Pancasila ideology does not need to be challenged. He also said that Indonesia will not accommodate other ideologies to replace the Pancasila.

Those deemed unfit to represent Indonesia according to the MPR speaker include communism, fascism, liberalism, capitalism, and also include radicalized religious ideologies that do not represent Indonesia’s identity.
