Raffinated Sugar Seized in Makassar, Jakarta

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta-- @page { size: 21cm 29.7cm; margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } -->: The Ministry of Trade confiscated 1.612,4 tonnes of raffinated sugar during operations in Makassar, South Sulawesi on Saturday (6/9), the Ministry official website reported.

The Ministry said it coordinated with police in the operation and another 130,4 tonnes of raffinated sugar was seized in a similar operations in Jakarta and Bogor, West Java.

The report came after Minister of Trade Mari Elka Pangestu said last week that the government was controlling imports on raffinated sugar, and limitted its distribution for industry.
