TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, has announced that the government is determined to set zero collective leave for this year’s Eid al-Fitr holiday following the Covid-19 pandemic.

“In today’s limited meeting, May 22 is not a joint leave for state apparatus (ASN) and SOE employees. All must work as usual [that day],” said Muhadjir via a teleconference on Wednesday, May 20.

Meanwhile, the additional joint leave of Eid or Lebaran, which is initially tapped on May 26-29, will be scrapped and moved to the end of the year on December 28-31.

However, Muhadjir added, there is a possibility of the leave days to be set in line with the Eid al-Adha holiday in July.

The government will review this policy on collective leave at the end of June. “As the President’s note, if the Covid-19 cases drop and are no longer threatening, it is possible to set the joint leave after the Eid al-Adha holiday on July 31,” Muhadjir said.
