TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Following up the direction from the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises (BUMN), state-owned oil company PT Pertamina is currently developing the ‘New Normal’ protocol for the operational protection of workers, customers, partners and suppliers, working both inside and outside of the operational area.

"Pertamina is preparing protocols to anticipate the new normal scenario in all lines of operations, including upstream, processing, distribution as well as service at gas stations throughout Indonesia," said Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati in a written statement, on Monday, May 18, 2020.

In the new normal scenario starting from May 25, 2020, Pertamina’s protocols will regulate the company’s operational procedure, including those related to the mandatory use of masks, sterilization of the work environment as well as health checks and tracking of workers' conditions.

In addition, the operational procedure is also set to push for the optimization of technology through digital meetings, as well as customer service adhering to physical distancing and encouraging the use of digital payments through the MyPertamina application.

Currently, continued Nicke, Pertamina continues to apply strict health protocols, monitored by the COVID-19 Task Force, geared to ensure the health of workers and other stakeholders, as well as to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Pertamina's operational areas.

"In accordance with the direction from the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises, Pertamina will continue to support the government's strategic steps in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic. We are also ready to make various adjustments from human aspects, business processes and technology, to ensure (the provision of) fuel and LPG services to the community and drive the wheels of the Indonesian economy," she said.
