TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ten medical workers in Agam District, West Sumatra Province, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after coming in close contact with patients contracting COVID-19 infection at several public health service posts (Puskesmas) in the district.

Seven of the 10 medical workers came from Puskesmas Baso, one from Puskesmas Lasi and two from Puskesmas Lubukbasung, spokesman for the Agam District Task Force for the COVID-19 Handling Khasman Zaini said on Sunday.

"They are being isolated at Achmad Mochtar Hospital in Bukittinggi, the West Sumatra Provincial Human Resources Development Board, and so on," he said.

They tested positive for the COVID-19 based on the results of swab test conducted at the Integrated Diagnostic and Research Laboratory for Infectious Diseases at the Medical School of Andalas University in Padang, he said.

They tested positive for the virus after coming in close contact with a patient under surveillance (PDP) diagnosed positively for the COVID-19 in Baso Sub-district.

"This is based on the tracing of their close contact with the PDP diagnosed positively for the virus," he said.

The district reported 14 coronavirus cases, including the 10 medical workers who tested positive for COVID-19.

The number of PPDs is 6, asymptomatic persons (OTG) 390 and persons under surveillance (ODP) 40.
