TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sad news once again emerged from the world of Indonesian music. Legendary Campursari music singer by the name of birth Dionisius Prasetyo, famously known as Didi Kempot, died on Tuesday morning.

The news of the death of the singer was first known from a message circulating. Reportedly Didi Kempot passed away at 07:45 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

Didi Kempot died while undergoing treatment at Kasih Ibu Hospital, Solo, Central Java. There is no further information about the cause of death of Didi Kempot and also about the funeral info.

Didi Kempot died at the age of 53 years old. The singer, nicknamed `The Godfather of Broken Heart`, is known for his heartbreaking tunes.

Didi Kempot's name has re-emerged in recent years, especially among young people. A series of concerts had also been conducted by Didi Kempot with young audiences.

Didi Kempot also planned to hold a big concert at the Bung Karno Stadium on July 10, 2020. But the concert failed to take place after the legend breathed his last.
