Jakarta COVID-19 Update; 74,000 Tested with 2,954 Positive Cases

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Administration on Tuesday reported it had conducted coronavirus rapid tests on 74,785 people which revealed results showing 2,954 of them were positive for COVID-19.

Head of Disease Prevention and Control of the city’s healthcare agency, Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari, said that these series of rapid tests will be constantly conducted in six administration areas in the city.

“The percentage of those positive for COVID-19 was 3.9 percent, which is based on rapid test results,” said Dwi in a written statement today, April 28.

According to Dwi, there is a rise in positive cases as of Monday with 118 new cases. Bringing the total number of confirmed positive coronavirus cases to 3,950. So far, 341 people have recovered while the death toll is 379.

Moreover, 2,024 patients are still undergoing treatment at COVID-19 hospitals with additional 1,206 people in self-isolation. People who are still under monitoring (ODP) amount to 7,233 while patients under monitoring (PDP) amount to 5,499 people with 4,554 of them already permitted to return home.
