TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - The Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) has called for the general public to stop referring paramedics and health workers as front liners of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Instead, PB IDI deputy chairman Mohammad Adib Khumaidi says that the general public itself are the ones who are at the front line of the pandemic.
“Why? Because the success upon handling the COVID-19 outbreak is in the hands of the general society’s obedience and contact tracing,” said Khumaidi on Monday.
As of April 5, the coronavirus pandemic has infected 2,092 people and killed at least 191 people, which includes health workers. Out of the hundreds who perished due to the virus, IDI recorded 18 doctors who died due to contracting the virus.
