Married Couple in Papua's Merauke Tests Positive for COVID-19

TEMPO.CO, Jayapura - Acting chief of the Merauke District Health Office in Papua Province, dr Nevile Maskita, confirmed that a married couple had tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and received medical treatment at a local hospital.
"The couple has family relations with a COVID-19 patient who died on Friday night in Timika," he said on Saturday.
They were admitted to the hospital on March 31. However, the result of their swab test was known only on Friday night, he said.
The two confirmed cases of the coronavirus brought the number of people testing positive for the coronavirus in Marauke to four as of Friday night. However, the first two patients had been discharged from the hospital after the result of the last COVID-19 test was negative.
"Only two COVID-19 patients are being treated in an isolated room at the Merauke Regional General Hospital," dr Nevile said adding no patient under surveillance (PDP) is found in the district.
Meanwhile, the number of people under surveillance (ODP) is 80 and people without symptoms (OTG) is 864.
