Jakarta Hospital Adds Isolation Facilities for COVID-19 Patients

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As one of the dozens of government-appointed COVID-19 hospitals, North Jakarta’s Sulianti Saroso Infectious Diseases Hospital (RSPI Sulianti Saroso) announced that it was set to add isolation facilities to further accommodate patients that had contracted the virus.
“We are preparing additional rooms. There are 40 isolations rooms currently and there will probably be another 60,” said RSPI Sulianti Saroso president-director Mohammad Syahril in a written statement on Friday.
In addition to the upgraded facilities, the hospital has also had more health workers comprising 15 nurses, two specialists, and four general practitioners who all are tasked to handle coronavirus cases. The hospital also continues to accept donations such as cash, hospital beds, and medical staff protection gears.
“People continue to donate [protection equipment], including a sufficient supply of food,” Syahril reports.
The RSPI Sulianti Saroso currently has enough supply of medical protective equipment, which is expected to be enough to handle coronavirus (COVID-19) cases for the next two weeks.
A total of 20 patients positive for COVID-19 that were treated at the hospital have recovered, which, in context, is a promising number compared to other regions in Indonesia.
