TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has converted four regional-owned hotels as temporary housing for frontline health care workers taking part in the handling of the coronavirus outbreak. One of the hotels is Grand Cempaka Business Hotel belonging to Jakarta Tourisindo.

"Starting today, Grand Cempaka Business Hotel owned by Jakarta is converted and operated as lodging for medical workers in Jakarta who are striving to tackle the Covid-19 outbreak," said Anies on his official Facebook account on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

Anies elaborated that the hotel has 220 rooms and 414 beds. As of Thursday, March 26, 2020, a total of 138 medical workers from Tarakan Hospital and Pasar Minggu Hospital will occupy the hotel located on Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta.

A number of supporting facilities are also prepared to protect and serve the national 'heroes'. Each room will be disinfected routinely, foods will be provided in boxes, and disinfectant booths are also available outside the entrance and exit gate.

As for the mobility of the medical personnel, Jakarta deployed 15 Transjakarta buses and 50 school buses, Anies added.

Three other Jakarta hotels with a total of 261 rooms and 361 beds will also be ready to accommodate medical personnel battling with the outbreak. "We must fully support them. Jakarta administration is making moves to back them," Anies Baswedan remarked.
