TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has permitted all ministries and state agencies to reallocate their budgets for Covid-19 response. This is aimed at improving the state's response and protocol against the pandemic.

The decision is stipulated in a circular on the refocusing of ministries' budget and allocation to fast-track the national response and mitigation of the Coronavirus Disease 2019.

The ministry's spokesperson Rahayu Puspasari said that the circular was issued under Sri Mulyani's direct order and signed by her on March 15.

In the letter, Sri Mulyani told all ministers and agency heads to prioritize budget use for activities that support the Covid-19 response efforts. The activities refer to those included in the state protocol as stated by the Covid-19 task force.

The letter also mandates budget revisions to be done quickly, with accountability, and in a simple fashion.
