TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Achmad Yurianto, the national spokesman for COVID-19 outbreak mitigation, said the contact tracing to discover the infection source of Case 27 has not shown some results.

“We continue to trace Case 27, we have tested the patient’s close family and relatives for several times, and the tests come back negative,” said Yurianto at Presidential Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, March 11.

Case 27 involving a 33-year-old man was classified as the only local transmission case since the government could not find its link to the previous confirmed cases and had no travel history aboard or imported case.

“I have said that since the beginning, this contact tracing will be difficult, but we have to do this,” Yurianto added.

According to him, Case 27 emerged from the patient’s initiative to get screening at a Jakarta hospital. “Yes, he was not feeling well so he initiated to visit a hospital,” Yurianto said.

On Tuesday, March 10, the government announced eight more confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection, bringing the total cases up to 27 in the country.
