TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) announced the temporary financial state-losses based on the audit on the alleged state-insurance Jiwasraya corruption case, which amounts to Rp16.9 trillion.

BPK chairman Agung Firman Sampurna maintains that the number is the agency’s temporary calculation and opens the possibility that the losses endured by the country could be much larger.

“This is not based on the final audit as the process is still ongoing. This is a massive-scale case and we are continuing to conduct our calculation,” said Agung at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Monday.

Meanwhile, the amount of money managed to be confiscated by the BPK from 6 suspects in the Jiwasraya case amount to Rp13.1 trillion.

The suspects comprise; Heru Hidayat the president commissioner of Trada Alam Minera, Hanson International president commissioner Benny Tjokrosaputro, former Jiwasraya president-director Hendrisman Rahim, former Jiwasraya financial director Hary Prasetyo, Jiwasraya investment head division Syahmirwan, and Maxima Integra director Joko Hartono Tirto.

Attorney general Sanitiar Burhanuddin previously asserts that he will legally process anyone who tries to hamper BPK’s investigation on the alleged Jiwasraya corruption case. He also asserted that investigators will not stop at the aforementioned six suspects and opens up the chance that there will be more suspects named in the future.
