TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta's fast lane buses, the Transjakarta, is diverting some of its routes today due to the flooding in the capital. The heavy rains that showered Jakarta since Monday night inundated major roads, making it almost impossible for the buses to operate as normal.

The buses are rerouted temporarily, "because of the inundated roads in some areas of Jakarta," Nadia Disposanjoyo, PT Transjakarta's head of corporate secretary and public relations division, said in a written statement Tuesday, February 25, 2020

Among the routes that are temporarily diverted are Corridor 2 (Pulogadung-Harmoni)—rerouted to Corridors 4 and 5; and Corridor 3 (Kalideres-Pasar Baru) is rerouted to Tomang Toll Road.

Transjakarta also cuts short a number of routes. Corridor 5 (Kampung Melayu-Ancol) today makes it last stop at Pal Putih, Corridor 8 (Lebak Bulus-Harmoni) to Ashidiqiyyah, and Corridor 9 (Pinang Ranti-Pluit) only runs until Grogol Bus Stop.

The company also reroutes and shortens its Mikrotrans services for JAK 15, JAK 34, JAK 37, JAK 42, JAK 52, JAK 71, JAK 27, JAK 05, JAK 08, JAK 22, JAK 36, JAK 40, JAK 51, and JAK 77.

Nadia said that routes that are integrated with the MRT are operating normally despite the flooding in Jakarta. As for electronic tickets, the Transjakarta is doing things the conventional way today—using stubs and cash transactions, as PLN has shut down hundreds of substations for safety reasons.
