TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Secretary of the Coordinating Economic Ministry, Susiwijono, said the government was set to hold a roadshow of omnibus law on job creation across 18 cities this week. He added the event was aimed at collecting inputs from stakeholders.

“This week, a roadshow will be held in 18 priority cities across Indonesia. The President will be present in five cities,” said Susiwijono at JS Luwansa Hotel, Jakarta, Monday, February 24.

According to him, those cities will be selected based on several aspects, such as the number of industries, stakeholders, workers, and investment considerations.

“We will start from Jakarta. But other cities have not been decided yet, waiting for the report of Coordinating Minister Airlangga to the President,” he added.

He stressed that all discussions on the draft of the bill remained open albeit it had been submitted to the House of Representatives (DPR) on February 12.

Pak Jokowi has ordered all ministries to solicit opinions from stakeholders. We receive inputs and will discuss them in the parliament,” Susiwijono said, adding that the roadshow was initiated in the wake of mass rejection against the draft of the job creation omnibus law.
