Dira Sugandi's Father, Rudiama Sugandi, Passes Away

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The father of singer Dira Sugandi, Rudiama Sugandi, has passed away in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday, February 18. The news was first conveyed by Dira's spouse, Elfa Zulham Warongan through his Instagram social media.

“Innalillahi wa innailaihi rojiun, our beloved father Rudiama Sugandi has passed away this morning at 2:30 a.m. in Bandung,” Elfa Zulham posted. “Hopefully he will be forgiven and [died] husnul khotimah (with blessings ahead). Amin.”

Dira who was at the time in Los Angeles, United States, reposted the sad news and the photo of her daughter Savanna Azura Warongan and her father Rudiama during Savanna’s birthday party on her Instagram.

The international jazz singer remembered her father who was also a musician by posting Rudiama’s favorite songs, such as Banana Boat by Harry Belafonte and Unforgettable by Nat King Cole. "Your favorite song, Dad," wrote Dira Sugandi with an emoticon of love.
