N. Sumatra Health Agency Observes 83 Suspected Coronavirus Cases

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - To prevent a possible viral outbreak in Indonesia, the North Sumatra Health Agency announced that it is currently placing 83 people under observation related to suspected novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) cases.
“Out of 83 people under observation, 38 of them are Indonesian nationals and 45 foreign nationals,” said the North Sumatra Health Agency secretary, Aris Yudhariansyah on Tuesday, February 11. Aris said 44 of the foreign nationals come from China while one is a U.K. citizen.
However, Aris did not reveal the geographical details of the people that are placed under coronavirus observation. The only hint came from Medan City health officials that announced 16 cases in the region are being observed.
“Despite the rising number of suspected cases, none has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus,” said Aris who also reminded the public to stay fit and maintain personal hygiene to avoid the possibility of contracting the virus.
