Here is Jokowi's Agenda on His Last Day of Australia Visit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - On the last day of a state visit to Australia, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will visit the Australian Parliament Building. Jokowi will hold a tête-à-tête meeting with Prime Minister (PM) of Australia Scott Morrison, then attend a bilateral meeting of the Republic of Indonesia with Australia in the Annual Leader's Meeting (ALM).

Jokowi will witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the meeting. "First is the Plan of Action Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2020-2024 and second, cooperation in the field of transportation that will be carried out by the Minister of Transportation," said Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi at the Hyatt Hotel in Canberra, Saturday, February 8, 2020.

The memorandum of understanding that will be signed by the Minister of Transportation of the two countries is the MoU concerning Transportation Security Cooperation.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said, there are two main things to be discussed in the memorandum of understanding, namely relating to the ease of using air connectivity and relating to vocational and safety.

"Australia has a lot of safety support in Indonesia, providing training personnel and therefore we ask to be increased to provide support to vocational in Indonesia," Budi Karya said.

Then, President Jokowi and PM Morrison will hold a joint press statement. On the occasion, the two leaders will announce the ratification of the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA).

Not only that, Jokowi will receive several honorary visits, namely from the Chair of the Australian Opposition, from the Chair of the Australian House of Representatives and Chair of the Australian Senate. Furthermore, Jokowi will deliver a speech in front of Australian Parliamentarian.

After attending the luncheon by the Australian PM, Jokowi will return to the Hyatt Hotel to attend the Indonesia-Australia Business Roundtable meeting.

Regarding the forum, Coordinating Ministry for Economy Airlangga Hartarto said there were around 20 mining, service, health sector, to tertiary business entrepreneurs. "Indeed there are universities that want to operate in Indonesia and the government wants to see deregulation there, especially operating in special economic areas," he said.

In the afternoon, Jokowi and his entourage will head to the Military Defense Establishment Fairbairn Airport, Canberra, to take off again to Jakarta.
