TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The mass demonstration protesting the discussion of the Omnibus Law draft today, January 20, claimed to be joined by thousands of people. Jakarta Metro Police then prepare traffic engineering in front of the Parliament Building.

However, the police have not yet specify when and how the route diversion will be applied.

"Because such traffic engineering still depends on the situation," said Comr. Fahri Siregar, Jakarta Police Chief of the Law Enforcement and Development Sub-Directorate this morning.

The workers' rally centered in the capital city was said to be attended by around 30,000 workers from Jakarta, Banten, and West Java. This will also be held simultaneously in 20 other provinces, including Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Riau, Lampung, Central Java, East Java, South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, and Gorontalo.

To secure the action, the police will deploy a joint 6,000 personnel of Jakarta Police, Indonesian Military (TNI), the city's public order agency (Satpol PP), and Transportation Agency, said the police spokesman Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus.

Yusri also called on protesters to not conduct anarchistic acts and maintain the order in expressing their views.
