U.S.-Iran Tension; Indonesians Asked to Remain Alert

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry has officially called on the Indonesian citizens to remain vigilant amid the political tension between the United States and Iran.

The foreign affairs ministry, in its official website kemlu.go.id, reminded Indonesian nationals currently in Iraq, Iran, and nearby regions, to “pay close attention to the political and security situation arising in Iraq, Iran, and nearby regions.”

The Ministry also called for Indonesians to follow the instructions of local authorities, especially regarding the region’s security situation and reach out to Indonesian official representatives in both of the regions. It also announced that a contingency plan has been prepared by the Foreign Affairs Ministry together with local official representatives in the Middle Eastern countries.
