TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Flight services of low-cost airliner Lion Air Group, including Batik Air and Wings Air, to and from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta have returned to normal. The flights were previously halted due to flooding at the airport runway on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.

Lion Group Corporate Communications Strategic, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, said his side started the operation following the official notification from the local airport authority as the area had been declared safe for flight.

"The local airport authority has issued the Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) that the airport is declared safe for flight operations," he said in a written statement, Thursday, January 2.

Danang said he had informed the normal flight operation to all of the customers. "Batik Air and Wings Air have already informed all passengers. So prepare your travel plans early," he added.

Danang called on would-be passengers to bring proper documents and tickets and check-in earlier or 120 minutes before the departure time to avoid a long queue. “The check-in counter for domestic flights is closed 30 minutes before departure,” he said

Earlier reports suggested that as many as 29 Lion Air Group flights to and from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport were forced to be canceled as the runways were flooded on Wednesday, January 1.
