Jokowi's Gibran Set to Register for Solo Regional Election

TEMPO.CO, Solo - Hundreds of supporters reportedly will accompany Gibran Rakabuming Raka registering for the 2020 Solo Regional Head Election to the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) of Central Java office in Semarang today, December 12.
The son of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will register as a candidate of Surakarta or Solo mayor.
“Over 900 volunteers will join,” said the volunteer coordinator Kuat Hermawan on Wednesday, December 11.
According to Kuat, Solo people living in Semarang will also welcome groups of volunteers at the PDIP's central executive board or DPP Central Java office.
“There will be art performances such as Barongsai dance and Topeng Ireng traditional dance.”
Kuat revealed that Gibran will fill in the registration form and submit it along with requirement files that had been prepared. Dozens of volunteers’ groups have been established to support the president’s eldest son.
On Wednesday, a volunteer group Koncone Gibran held a joint prayer in a restaurant in Mangkubumen of Solo. “We hope the registration runs well,” said the group coordinator Ginanjar, adding that his people will also join to accompany Gibran registering for the upcoming election.
