TEMPO.CO, Solo - Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or known as Ahok was reluctant to expose his experience being Pertamina chief commissioner during the first ten days. Yet he admitted he has several works that must be carried out to optimize the role of the state-run oil and gas firm.

“Let’s see the result later,” he said in Solo, Central Java, Thursday, December 5.

According to Basuki, the cooperation between the board of commissioners and directors was running well.

The former governor of Jakarta was officially named a chief commissioner of Pertamina by State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir on November 25.

Basuki said he had several works to further develop the company. “[Works related to] subsidy, efficiency, and profits,” he added. However, he stopped short of detailing the matter. “Just ask the directors.”

The board of commissioners, he mentioned, would continuously push for the development of biofuel production. “The President wants us to produce B100 biofuel,” Basuki remarked, adding that Pertamina is capable to achieve the goal.

Ahok stated that Indonesia is the largest producer of crude palm oil. So he believed the availability of enormous raw materials is the firm’s capital to produce biofuel. “Pertamina must be competent, not to mention the avtur export,” he concluded.
