TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The West Jakarta’s Kalideres police precinct announced that the cause of death of Wings Air pilot Nicolaus Anjar Aji Surya (27) on Monday, November 18, is due to suicide by hanging.
“The victim was found lifeless in his dorm room with self-inflicted neck injuries due to a rope around his neck,” said Kalideres Police Chief Adj. Comm. Indra Maulana on Wednesday evening.
Nicolaus’ brother, Ciprianus, was the first to discover his body at his brother’s dorm room at Rawa Lele street, Gang Melati I, in Kalideres, after Ciprinaus’ calls were not answered by Nicolaus.
Once Ciprinaus arrived at the dorm room, the door was locked and was only able to enter the room after breaking through the window. He was met with a tragic scene of Nicolaus Anjar’s body lifeless.
“The victim was then rushed to the Mitra Keluarga hospital, who then contacted the Kalideres Police,” said Indra.
Indra said that the motive of the suicide is likely linked to a disciplinary sanction that Nicolaus was facing with Wings Air. This letter of sanction arrived at Nicolaus’ house in Solo, Central Java a few days prior to him taking his own life.
