Ahok Asserts Readiness to Serve at SOE

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok said that he is ready to take part in managing State-Owned Enterprises (SOE).
“For the sake of the nation, the country, I am certainly ready,” said the former governor of Jakarta at SOE Ministry building, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 13.
After a meeting with SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Ahok claimed that he will be assigned to serve at one of SOEs. However, he stopped short of detailing the job.
“I will be involved in one of SOEs. That’s it. Regarding the position and what SOE, I don’t know. Just ask Pak Minister,” Ahok added.
He also said that he could not assure when he would officially secure the position. “Perhaps in December or this November, I am not sure. [You, the press] may ask Pak Minister”.
Earlier today, Ahok arrived at SOE Ministry building at 09:38 a.m., accepting the minister’s invitation to discuss the future of SOE. Right after leaving at 10:50 a.m., he revealed that they only talked about SOEs.
